Madeline Stuart is the 18 year old copper-haired beauty spinning the world of modeling on its head.
When I heard of Madeline's dream to become a model I was only too happy to donate my time to help her to realise her dreams. We had originally planned to shoot outside amongst the urban jungle, however unfortunately mother nature had other plans and we were forced inside out of the wet. Fortunately Nicole from Nicole Van Haren Photography was generous enough to donate the use of her studio space for our shoot - Thanks Nicole!
When working with this gorgeous girl it becomes clear that Maddy truly has a love of life; quick to smile and giggle at silly faces, she doesn't let anything hold her back from getting a good shot - not even bad weather!
The thing I find most wonderful about Maddy is the way that she is redefining what we perceive to be 'beautiful' in our society. She is on a mission to normalise Down's Syndrome and to instil the world with the knowledge that an extra chromosome shouldn't stop you from achieving your goals. Maddy is a go-getter. On the day that we shot she had already had basketball practice and had a German Film Crew following her around for the day - after the shoot she was off to dinner and Ice Hockey! She certainly is making the most out of life!
Special thanks need to go to Charli from The Makeup & Beauty Bar for donating her time and skill for Maddy's hair and make up. As well as Nicole from Nicole Van Haren Photography for the use of the studio space.
